History Hive loves it when there's a takeover. Not a business takeover, but an Instagram takeover. an Instagram Takeover is when I invite experts to curate a series of posts. This time around Dhatchana Sreetharan, an entrepreneur and a homeschooling mom of a four yr old, took over the History Hive Instagram page and shared some ideas on how one can teach history to their little ones. There's a thriving community of homeschoolers in India and around the world. For most of us too, the pandemic has made homeschooling inevitable, at least for sometime. Post 1: Learning about the Father of the Nation
The first person strikes in our mind when we think of freedom fighters is Mahatma Gandhiji. Ash still can't understand the what is freedom and why were we ruled. But she understands Gandhiji fought through non violence and we got freedom. Simple things we learnt ✅ Gandhiji walked to get his own salt. ✅ He wore cotton clothes and didn't like western outfit. ✅ He was against violence and fought through non- violence. ✅ He is the father of our nation.

Post 2: Learning about Indian Monuments
Ash is so much into history and that surprised us. We are so much in love with this game (the Monument Memory Game by History Hive) as it gives us a perfect family time and we discuss it a lot. We were so happy to get materials for our Indian Monuments, which are difficult to find at this good price.

Post 3: Learning about Pre-Historic Animals
The first thing that comes to our mind when we think of historic animals are dinos . We wanted Ash to get interest about dinos. So we started with simple sensory and play dough activity with dino figurines. The book about dinos were so attractive and we started comparing with the figurines. The sticker book from DK were of 2 in use. First we stuck the stickers then we laminated it and matched it which was so fun. The one time use book made to use multiple times.
Simple things we learnt.
✅ Names of few dinos T Rex, Ankylosaurus, Spinosaurus, Stegosaurus, Brachiosaurus.
✅ Dinos are also Herbivores, Carnivores and Omnivores.
✅ Dinos can Fly & live in water too.
✅ We came to know about them by Fossils.
✅ Simple sensory bin to understand what is fossil.
